@zx_sci_john@FireShadow64 I want you to explain to me how this is a bad thing when it doesnt take any jobs away or steal from any artists and it makes development of a game significantly easier and less time consuming for the real humans who make it? ZERO AI assets are in the final game...
@zx_sci_john@FireShadow64 Why? Because it helps the development process significantly. This method of AI use doesn’t take away any jobs or steal any art in fact it makes the jobs of the HUMAN artist significantly easier. AI is a tool and just like any tool it can be used for good and bad.
@FireShadow64 But this isn’t a replacement for creativity. In this instance it’s literally a tool used to speed up the development process. They only used PLACEHOLDER AI art during development to assist the HUMAN artists with the final assets. No AI art exists in the game.
@wariocolosseum No AI assets exist in the final game they were purely used as placeholder assets to make the HUMAN artists lives easier. It’s important to condemn AI use, but it’s also important to acknowledge how it can be a force for good.
@wariocolosseum Ok but this kind of AI use is genuinely beneficial. It doesn’t take any jobs or steal art it literally just helps alleviate a lot of the physical toll and time crunch that goes into development to put more focus and attention into different, more important areas.
@boomborks Also keep in mind, they are referring to PLACEHOLDER assets that were used in development in place of final, human made assets. No AI art exists in the final game, it’s literally just been used as a tool to help real people with their job.
@boomborks How? This isn’t bad at all. This type of AI is actually beneficial to the industry, it doesn’t steal jobs or work and it makes the physical toll and time crunch of development significantly better. Not all AI is created equal but in instances like this it’s a valuable tool.
