@Bergy4Selke@Nick___Collins But yea I think the whole “the pitches will be shit” thing is pretty ridiculous. I doubt that’ll be the case. OP should’ve left that out because including nonsense like that weakens the overall point he’s trying to make.
@Bergy4Selke@Nick___Collins I think there actually was an incident where a guy vandalized an Iraq banner and shouted some dumb ‘Murica stuff. Certainly not widespread though.

@Mysterio__01@WFCConor@PolitlcsGlobal I’m directly responding to the dude saying the US is a worse host than Qatar. That is a ridiculous statement. Set aside how shitty the US foreign policy is and just focus on their HOSTING of the World Cup and contrast that with Qatar’s. Because that’s all I’m saying.
@Mysterio__01@WFCConor@PolitlcsGlobal Did you read a word I said? “I fucking despise my countries government” was the key bit. You just can’t really compare the 2 things. Being dickheads and making a team fly in inconveniently is not the same as what Qatar did to facilitate hosting that World Cup.
@WFCConor@PolitlcsGlobal I’m not saying any of this is right. It unequivocally isn’t. But what Qatar did to host that World Cup is in a different stratosphere to something like this.
@WFCConor@PolitlcsGlobal Yea man building stadiums by fucking working people to death while you hold their visas hostage is definitely worse than making a team fly in the day of the game.
I fucking despise my countries government but this is an insane statement.
@gooner_saad@PoznanInMyPants They weren’t killed BECAUSE of the tournament. The criticisms of Qatar were related to deaths and human rights abuses that happened BECAUSE of the tournament. I simply cannot make this any easier for you to understand. Have a nice life man.
@gooner_saad@PoznanInMyPants I’m as angry about what the US is doing abroad as you are. But you’re either intentionally ignoring or failing to see the difference in the criticism being leveled at the 2 countries. Anyway, I’m tired of this. Have a good one pal.
@gooner_saad@PoznanInMyPants Again, this is a stupid, bad faith argument but I’ll bite. Palestines qualifying campaign had been over for months by the time Palestinian Pele was tragically killed.
@gooner_saad@PoznanInMyPants The only one of those things directly tied to the hosting of the tournament is Iraq’s striker being detained, yes. That’s a fair criticism, though not really in the same category as some of the critiques leveled at Qatar. The other 2 have nothing to do with the US hosting.
@gooner_saad@PoznanInMyPants You’re missing the distinction (again). Criticism was specifically of how Qatar hosted of the tournament. Kafala, worker deaths, LGBTQ attendee issues, etc. It’s completely fair to criticize the US, but what they’re doing isn’t DIRECTLY tied to their hosting of the tournament.
@gooner_saad@PoznanInMyPants Yea I’m sure nobody cared about the literal slaves being used to build the stadiums or anything like that. All virtue signaling for sure.
@gooner_saad@PoznanInMyPants This attack is genuinely so weird. I’m not a big fan of my country lately either, but I’m not sure why you’re going so hard at a guy for NOT tweeting something?
