Practically speaking, always be looking for those little moments, snatches of time. Focus doesn’t have to be a marathon. Sometimes it’s a sprint. Take whatever comes. #createlounge
A6: I’m working on my schedule for this upcoming #nanowrimo. I want to plan some real creative time, hopefully as a way to bring focus. Intention. Intention. Intention. #createlounge
But above all, have grace for yourself. You ain’t perfect. There will be good days and bad, and sometimes your focus isn’t gone, it’s just taking a break. Follow its example. #createlounge
Don’t buy into the myth of the suffering artist. There are times to slog, but why are we doing this if not to try some kind of enjoyment out of it? There’s no harm in making it something to look forward to. #createlounge
A5: Make it easy for yourself. Create an environment and a situation that is going to be conducive. (I.E. Don’t plan a bunch of other things at the same time) If you write in your intention from the beginning it will make that much easier for your energy to show up. #createlounge
It’s just like writer’s block, but the best writers know there’s no such thing as a block you can’t get around. It’s usually just a signal to try something else. #createlounge
There are times to keep going, certainly, but there are times, too, when our creativity is just telling us to lay off. It takes experience to learn the difference. #createlounge
A4: There are times when it’s a lot harder certainly. We try and try and get nothing. The solution, I’ve found, is often to just step away. Don’t try to make something happen that is not going to. #createlounge
Music, natural light, comfy chair, (but not too comfy, of course). Let’s not forget that our bodies and minds are linked. It’s great we can create anywhere, but we all know some environments are preferable to others. #createlounge
A3: Environment is one of the biggest factors for me, and it’s not just about being free of distractions. The best place is one where I feel comfortable enough to create. #createlounge
I feel like this is a common thing for writers. We always know when something’s amiss when we have a million ideas of what to write except what we’re actually supposed to be writing. #createlounge
A2: When I’m working on something I don’t want to be. Plain and simple. When either my energy or my heart just aren’t in it, that’s when the ADD kicks in. #createlounge
