This changed what I noticed on my walk this morning.
After listening, I recognised the sound of swifts above some farm buildings — that unmistakable screaming call of early summer.
A lovely short podcast about one of summer’s most extraordinary birds.

#Littlehampton may look like a familiar seaside town, but its shoreline is constantly changing. In this episode of Creative Connections, we explore the West Sussex coast where the River Arun meets the sea — from shingle and sand to dunes, groynes, rock pools, Winkle Island and the exposed chalk near West Beach. https://t.co/XPamtMezRB
This made me look at Littlehampton differently.
Not just a seaside town, but a constantly changing shore — shingle, dunes, tide, the River Arun, Winkle Island and the geology beneath your feet.
Well worth a watch.
Today we’re on the West Sussex coast, at #Littlehampton. Not the sort of place where geology announces itself with towering cliffs or dramatic rock formations. It's quieter than that. It’s not a coast of cliffs, caves and sea stacks. It’s a coast of movement. And it's the best beach in SE England according to @Sussex_World!! Should we be telling people?
Recently named the best beach in South East England by @Sussex_World, drum roll, East Beach in Littlehampton. Watch out for our podcast on what's under your feet at both East and West Beach later today. #Littlehampton#BestBeach https://t.co/7EaaIhJ0Os
Dreams Undone: seven songs about wanting something badly — and what happens when the dream meets the world. #songwriting#songmeanings#songlyrics Now available on Podbean at https://t.co/qVG7V58gzM
Really enjoyed this. A fallen tree, still growing even though it’s almost on its side, becomes a fascinating story about light, gravity and survival.
Quiet, curious, and oddly uplifting. 🌳
