@CarnivalLeeds yesterday with Khadijah in our costume named ‘Ubuntu’ leading the parade. The ancient African word encapsulates the bonds, sharing and commitment at the heart of this collaboration.

The project dissemination was nothing short of spectacular. To showcase all the hard work from the project we put on a film premiere and an exhibition. It featured decorated mannequins, joint replacements and much more. 🩰🦿🤸♀️🎞️
Have you ever seen a dance-off between a robot dog and ballet dancers? 🩰🦿🐶 Our 'experience day' at @northernballet was a culmination of collaborative creativity, blending arts, engineering, and education to inspire cross-disciplinary thinking! #collaboration@batleygirls
Coproduction Day 2! Our team of engineers, artists, and educators united to design the Experience Day.🦿👩🏫🩰 We opened our spaces, shared our worlds, and brought engineering and the science of dance to life!

Co-production workshop 1
Our team of Engineers, artists, and educators came together for the first time to co-produce a series of learning activities for year 8 students at @batleygirls . We explored new interdisciplinary concepts and developed new learning activities!
Our 'Mechanics of Life' journey began in July with communication workshops led by Nifty Fox Creative and Duncan Yellowlees. Check out the live scribing from these engaging sessions! From task-master challenges to captivating performances...
‘Mechanics of Life’ brings together engineers from the University of Leeds and artists from Northern Ballet to explore the mechanics of movement through dance. We present to you ‘Ingenium, Mechanics of Life’.

Together with the @UniversityLeeds and the @RAEngNews we’ve explored what truly means to move. With a team of fantastic engineers led by @DrBrionyThomas and choreography by @Tindallkenny, we’ve brought together two worlds: dance and technology.

The project exemplified how co-creation between science and the arts helped people from different disciplines to expand their ways of thinking 🥼🎭
It also showcased how innovative collaboration can engage and inspire wide and diverse audiences 👩🏫
The films were co-created with @batleygirls students based on their engineering learning – connecting anatomy, physics of motion and limits of the body and expression in mechanical and organic movement. From visuals to choreography, these themes were woven into the film 👯
