@ToriTyson Would you believe me if I told you that a psycho on Facebook said she’s “headed the wrong direction” and compared her to OJ Simpson and Aaron Hernandez or do I need to go grab a screenshot?
@lmTheReasonWhy Rihanna is simultaneously my favorite artist and the one celeb I’d literally never even attempt to approach 😂 and this comes from someone who owns at least one of everything she puts her name on. That lady is not and has never been a nice girls girl😂.
@scmom13@FreddyLA7 I can’t believe people really live their lives this damn afraid of everything. Anywhere you go could turn sketch, just live your damn life and use some basic common sense and situational awareness.
EXACTLY what I’ve been saying, she could be negotiating a percent of merchandise, or stock options. Literally ANYTHING. What better time to negotiate for those things than at the ground level?
@UWAA_United So then it’s not actually that simple is it. As you don’t know what’s taking place in the negotiations. There are other things to negotiate outside of money but everyone is so quick to make assumptions that it seems that part is forgotten.
@ayeibkirbs What I want is for people to not condemn someone based off of the little knowledge you have of the situation. Contract negotiations is a regular part of professional sports, everyone needs to chill out
I’m confused by those that claim to want more pay equity & equality for women in sports but then get mad at a player whom is trying to do just that. Especially when the “big” contract in sports often sets a new/greater standard for everyone else to be paid.
@jwatsonfisher You don’t even know what exactly she’s asking for yet. It could be stock, it could be a percent of merchandise sales, it’s could be ANYTHING. Just see how it plays out, never hurts to ask.
@VictoriaHayward I’m hoping thats she’ll play either way and that the negotiations are just that, negotiations. Meaning even if they don’t go in her favor at least the precedent is now there to at least ask.
@barnerburner101 She isn’t stunting the growth of the league though, games were still played. Megan Grant hit a bomb and Karlyn Pickens was lights out per usual.
look i get it. But this a new league trying to grow and she’s coming off as a leech. She has already made 2 million dollars (more than any other softball player ever), girl just sign the damn contract and be grateful.
@Gab_Chick23@Dr_nataliebritt I guess all I’m saying is that you never know if you never ask. Worse case scenario, they say no to her demands. Best case scenario they say yes and a new precedent is set for current and future players to better negotiate.
@Gab_Chick23@Dr_nataliebritt Not being rude or facetious but I don’t get how a love for a thing equates to never being able to negotiate for more. If that’s the case the WNBA players should’ve never renegotiated their contracts lol I’m sure they love basketball AND making money playing it.
@Gab_Chick23@Dr_nataliebritt Well be sure to apply this same logic to your own life. I love my job, worked hard to obtain a degree to be able to have this job AND I’ll still be asking for more compensation each year. But I guess you should just love your job and never ask for any additional compensation.
@barnerburner101 Then let them take what they get…and let her ask for exactly what she wants. She has the free will to do so. Too bad others lack the audacity.
@VictoriaHayward@saragroe Couldn’t you argue that her waiting/demanding more will pave the way for others to be able to negotiate more pay in the future? Just because others made it possible doesn’t mean those who come after should just accept everything. Her challenging the status quo could help others.
I realllllyyyyy don’t like these NiJa takes. It’s just lacking so much nuance. Either we want women, as a whole to be loud and get fair pay in the workplace, or we want women to shut up and accept a dollar and a dream.
