Life can change in an instant, and Craig Kieswetter’s journey is a powerful reminder of that. Born in South Africa, he moved to England chasing a dream—and he lived it. His brilliant half-century in the 2010 T20 World Cup final played a huge role in delivering England’s first-ever ICC trophy.

But just four years later, everything shifted. While playing for Somerset, a freak accident saw the ball squeeze through the helmet grille and smash into his face, damaging his vision. He fought hard to come back, hoping for a full recovery, but the game he loved so deeply slipped away. At just 27, Kieswetter had no choice but to retire.

Yet he didn’t let that be the end of his story. With the same drive that made him a top-level cricketer, he turned to golf and began building a new career from scratch.

As Craig Kieswetter turns 38, we remember not just the cricketer, but the resilience behind the man. Reflecting on his retirement, he once said:

“I realise I am one of those lucky people who earn a living doing something they truly love. It’s the game I fell in love with as a kid. A lot of players forget that perspective check.”

@Adityakrsaha I guess, a lot depends on which surfaces they play. Chinnaswamy is currently unavailable, so they need to figure out that first and then pick players accordingly. Because, if RCB continues to play on similar pitches as last season, Miller won't be a good option.
