But we’ve all has different experiences, all have different preferences, admittedly my initial retort was misplaced in its language and prejudice, but ultimately my experience has taught me house over hotel, without fail.

@matthewastill @anon_opin Yeah, that was probably the wine talking… harsh opinion to brandish people that way, poor from me. My experience of holidaying in an all inclusive hotel (and a nice one at that) was horrible. I can see the attraction though.

Hotels create so much wastage every year, use more energy per guest, and are unsightly. Each to their own, I don’t holiday in hotels, and I like it that way.

@matthewastill @anon_opin I have 5 yr old twins, my wife and I both have high demanding jobs, so stress isn’t exactly lost on us, and we can’t relax in a hotel. I find relaxation in peace and quiet, freedom, and being away from crowds. each to their own, i get that some like it the other way round.

@gjb121 @anon_opin 😂 having done both, it’s certainly not bollocks. I have a home to myself, a car for freedom, better quality food and wine, and I’m not limited to accommodating in over populated areas of the world catered for tourists, and can experience the true cultures of the world.
