The reflecting pool debacle is the perfect visual metaphor for the Trump Administration - superficial approaches to complex problems leading to worse outcomes than if he had done nothing.
Deep inner suffering inevitably arises when the human person is reduced to performance, consumption, or a statistical datum. Many young people today live under the yoke of expectations to perform, immersed in an exasperated competitiveness that generates anxiety, fear of not measuring up, and disorientation.
@NortonMpls Laughable. The defund the police crowd, who told us we are just supposed to live with crime, now trying to blame Frey, who opposed defunding the police. LOL
@NortonMpls@basedegenerate bike lanes on hennepin negatively impact people and pedestrians trying to walk around uptown far more than a cop parked there. The bike lanes infringe on pedestrian space 100% of the time and endanger people on foot, with strollers or in wheelchairs. Not great for business.
@jacob_mauren Old enough to remember when Lisa Bender opposed using cops in uptown when people were filling the streets with trash, blocking them, graffitiing sidewalks & buildings, breaking windows, setting fires, harassing passers by & customers. Her supporters cheered when Juut left.
@daviss Still remember the drag racers doing donuts at Lake & Lagoon, shooting a rifle into the air. And dumpsters literally on fire in the middle of Lake St. The windows smashed at Walgreens several times. The woman assaulted in the parking lot. None caused by the Uptown Association
@natehoodstp Have you ever worked in downtown Minneapolis during the winter? If there were no skyways, the majority of people would stay at their desks over lunch. Of course, now that there is so much less shopping downtown, there is less reason to venture to the skyways.
