Like so many artists, I have concerns about my artwork being used to populate generative AI engines. So I'm moving on to other platforms (some of which may also fall off my list for the same reason) where you can continue to find me under @Critterwings
On #KidlitGN we reserve the LIKES for agents. You can leave a comment, but please do not press the "heart" or like icon. If you can undo the likes that would be helpful for those pitching. Thank you.
THE WEBSITE IS OPEN--KIDLITGN.com--for pitches for un-agented, agented gn creators pitching MG and younger and for illustrators pitching a portfolio. The pitch window will close at 11:59 Oct. 4 #KidLitG
The good news: last night’s distraction is because I was busy packing for an art retreat at @HighlightsFound this week, so I’m very much looking forward to some focused, quality art time! 😁😁😁
@denisegallagrrr Glad to hear it! 😁
I love me a good prompt list - and there are some great ones this year! - but I just know I don’t have the bandwidth to follow through with any that will distract from the other things on my to-do list.
@charlenedraws Congrats Charlene! What an awesome art share idea, thank you!
I *love* drawing animals both real and imaginary ❤️ They’re my favorite subject whether it’s for 🦄
#kidlit or #natureillustration or #fantasyart or anything else 😸
@inkyelbows Thanks for the opp! I’m a versatile #illustrator (sometimes author) interested middle grade and older #kidlit but also PBs, games, merch, licensing - I love working in both #fantasy and #nonfiction if I can explore cool settings, characters, and stories! https://t.co/1OfxLTrdhm
@charlenedraws Truth: I can only get pictures of my cats being cute when they are asleep or distracted… when they see me point the phone camera at them they shoot eye daggers at me and leave.
#simonthecat was sweet, always gentle, loved playtime, and had become a good big brother to our 1-year-old”kitten” Timmy. I still can’t believe he’s gone so soon and so suddenly.
@comics_teacher From upstate NY, we’d make them at home - served with ketchup on white bread, as a kid I was very proud of making them myself - but I don’t think I’ve *ever* seen them in an actual restaurant even then or since I’ve been traveling.
@GNSIorg Thank you for the warm welcome!
I live in the “Brood x” zone and had way too much fun last year when the cicadas emerged en mass! (Tho the novelty wore thin after a couple weeks…)
@Abrushwithhumor @OlgaIllustrator Thanks! I’m having fun with these, 😁 they’re all based on references from Mark Simon’s excellent book Facial Expressions. I’ve been putting the #processvideo on my Insta but here’s this one where you can see it briefly.
@mallorygrigg Hi Mallory, I love working in non fic, and B&W! Here are samples from projects that required diff. levels of detail. Main portfolio: https://t.co/ZzbyjmGFkt
also avail: fun sci #infographics in a diff. style, if that’s relevant to either project, at https://t.co/6WIzbi2y0C
Belated wrap-up post on #ICON11 - had so much fun I forgot to take pics (as usual) Can you spot my cat Timmy in the group mural? … so many great speakers and artists, new friends and old. ❤️
Thanks for a great event @ICONconference ! (Conf poster/tote by @jukeboxcomix)
