it seems pretty obvious to me because I get lost in games quick, but: the frustrating thing about LPs to me lately, is the inconsistency between the "host" and the material. Riffing is one thing, but constantly making jokes in a harrowing situation just takes me out of it.

@Barbarian_Brain But what I originally meant wasn't even about technical issues, just the spirit of the game: if a game is meant to be quiet and sad, be quiet/sad. If a game is zany and crazy, be zany. If it's meant to be creepy, silent, and horrifying, maybe don't talk the whole time, amirite?

So many times if I watch a horror game played on youtube I get irrationally angry and scream, in my mind: "SHUT. UP, player. Allow some freaking atmosphere. Quit trying to make a joke literally every 2 seconds. How do you breathe?"

@Barbarian_Brain And if the person viewing it listens on tinny little speakers (or a random tv) it will sound awful regardless. Either you won't hear the game, you won't hear me, or both. Which is why I always ask fans of my work to listen with headphones/ear buds.

@Barbarian_Brain Honestly the sound mixing is a nightmare that I have yet to figure out in years. Either 1) the game software captures the game audio way too loudly. 2) my Mic audio captures too softly. Or too loudly and thus captures all of my breathing or background noise. Yes, I have a filter-

The criminal's reply? "well, I'll just take this, too." and he grabs a case of red bull and takes it with him for good measure. Walks out the door, gets in his car, drives off. Clerk slowly and quietly calls the police before checking me out a minute or two later.
