David Lynch, our beloved dad, was a guiding light of creativity, love, and peace. On Monday, January 20th—what would have been his 79th birthday—we invite you all to join us in a worldwide group meditation at 12:00pm NOON PST for 10 minutes.
Let us come together, wherever we are, to honor his legacy by spreading peace and love across the world. Please take this time to meditate, reflect, and send positivity into the universe.
Thank you for being part of this celebration of his life.
Love,
Jennifer, Austin, Riley and Lula Lynch
God it was so nice to have an iconic genius old man die and not have to go through discourse about loving his work even though he did sex crimes or punched his wife
A spoiler: But there’s immense tragedy in losing a parent just as you’re beginning to understand one another, just as you are both starting to see each other as friends and not adversaries. I lost my dad at 25, and this scene broke me.
Netflix cancelling Lynch's final project and then having the gall to pat themselves on the back for "working" with him after his passing. Despicable fucking company.
@funkentechno So many memories with this DVD box lol. I remember reading all the clues and saying to myself “ok this doesn’t look that hard to figure out let’s give it a go” 😭
Come to think of it, I’m so glad I watched this movie 1st on DVD & a CRT screen. Wish I could replicate that again
If I were forced to pick one scene in Lynch's run that encapsulates his art (which is impossible), my pick is the Llorando sequence in Mulholland Drive.
Even in the dark of our nightmares, the beauty and pain of art can reach us, even if that art is built on nightmares itself.
RIP David Lynch, whose x-ray radiographs blurred the boundaries between fantasy & nightmare, myth & pop trash, wild imagination & the sinister realities at the greedy heart of the American experiment. A true genius who warped the fabric of existence & your own perception of life
