I can't speak for the guy but at the time the money plus the hope the Jet's were on the right track out weight some of his concerns but that has clearly changed now for him and maybe what pushed him was how he and his family were treated. Teams sign players all the time and at the time it makes sense a that time but later changes for a variety of reasons and they trade the player.

We’ve never seen anything like this before. A man was conscripted into jury duty by the government. He performed his civic duty and followed his conscience, refusing to acquit a woman who confessed to systematically executing her three children. The defense attorney immediately launched a public smear campaign against the juror. Soon several other jurors joined the campaign. Then the media. Even the defense attorney’s wife has joined. Now they’re doxxing the man, digging into his past, contacting his family, showing up at his house. All of this both to punish him for refusing to go with their program, and to pollute any future jury pool by making it clear that anyone who votes to convict Clancy will have their life destroyed. It’s truly one of the most outrageously evil things we’ve ever seen from the Left, and that’s saying something. A direct assault on the integrity of our justice system. They are burning down every boundary and standard in their path. And doing it all for the sake of a child murdering psychopath. Unfathomable.

There is something of a major bombshell in that interview that the Karen jurors were too stupid to understand while they were bragging about themselves and trashing the holdout.

One of the jurors admits that multiple nurses on the jury used their experience and medical background to “explain” toxicology reports to the holdout juror.

I showed that clip to a trial attorney who immediately saw it as an admission that the pro-Clancy jurors were using outside information and evidence from outside the trial process to bully a juror toward a particular outcome.

We volunteered and accepted the bargain. Missed birthdays, broken bodies, years away from our families, hostile fire, and the possibility that if we die, our families get roughly $500,000 in life insurance. In much of America today, that barely buys a house.

We know our lot and we’re not complaining about it.

But the job is hard enough without having to wonder whether an American newspaper is going to publish classified wartime command deliberations because its newsroom despises the administration and wants another cheap political scalp.

Fight the President, the Secretary, the Pentagon. Whatever, that’s politics.

But when the ammunition for that fight is information tied to ongoing operations and the private judgments of senior commanders, you’re spending our risk to buy your headline.

That’s the part WE need you to understand.

Murphy already gets a vote. So does the enemy. Exhaustion, bad intelligence, mechanical failure and plain rotten luck all get votes. We volunteered to face those things.

We did NOT volunteer to become collateral damage in the Washington Post’s feud with an administration it hates.

Why are so many women sooo angry? They won. They got everything they wanted. Men have never been doing this badly, and women have never been doing this well. They make more, they have the majority of jobs, they are the majority of college graduates, (UCLA undergrad is 60% female), they make more money, have much lower rates of suicide, addiction, and alcoholism, and live longer. They won: they took over all men-only spaces, they took over the Boy Scouts, they ended men’s bathrooms, they can fly fighter planes and be in combat. Marriage is optional, divorce is no-fault, they win 99% of the custody battles, they can control fertility at will, and they can’t get drafted. We are all living in the female future they promised.

I'm not sure I can phrase this right... but he appears to have an extreme personality. It takes 100% dedication and extreme drive to be a SEAL, but that same part of someone can also lead to extremes in other areas of life. His extreme personality may contributed to his struggles with substances. Not believing in God to being a hard core Christian. He just seems to be going to one extreme to the next.

The main reason Alex Jones was held liable was not that he questioned an official narrative. It was that he repeatedly and callously made false accusations about specific people. He claimed the Sandy Hook shooting was staged, that the grieving parents were “crisis actors,” and that they were knowingly participating in a fraud. His false claims, made for clicks and fame, were damaging (severe understatement) and led to harassment and threats against grieving, innocent people. So his "protected opinion" defense failed.

The First Amendment protects the right to question events and criticize official accounts, but it does not provide blanket immunity for defamation.
