#DhakaUniversity students held a protest demanding a fair share of water from the international rivers shared with India and protesting against the deliberate opening of the Dumur and Gajaldoba dams, causing sudden floods. Devastating flash floods have struck four eastern and southeastern districts of Bangladesh, leaving hundreds of thousands stranded in numerous villages.

I urge the government to take necessary steps to safeguard families, livelihoods and properties in those districts. I also call upon leaders and activists across all levels of the @bdbnp78 to support the affected people with humanitarian relief, including shelter, food, and logistics.
