@inking_g if you wanna do stuff with the object you just instantiated, you need GameObject copy = Instantiate(newPortrait), and then where you're referencing newPortrait now reference copy instead
@inking_g ok, im not sure if this is the problem you're having but i do see a problem here. when you call Instantiate you're creating a new copy of newPortrait but you're not saving a reference to it. when you reference newPortrait later, that's getting info from the original, not the copy
okay, my turn :'^)
i've been laid off, and today is my last day with Armor Games Studios. while it'll take a bit to fully process the change, i'm incredibly thankful for the amazing colleagues and developers i was able to work with during my time here. may we meet again soon💖
I have parted ways with Armor Games Studios and am looking for other work. I care deeply about helping developers and teams succeed and would love to find another role in production or publishing as a producer or ops/manager, but am open to discussing others. Thank you!
i wish i had made more progress. i wish i had released cryptocam this year. but i think its inportant to take pride in what i *did* get done rather than beat myself up about what i didnt. i think its important to frame my progress in a way that doesnt leave me feeling discouraged
it turns out making a game is hard. it turns out making a game by yourself is really hard. it turns out making a game by yourself, while holding a full time day job, and being a new homeowner dealing with homeowner problems for the first time is really really hard
