Crypto Lessons: Hard Truths from 2 Market Cycles: These are lessons I’ve learned the hard way, making money and losing it too. Hopefully, they help someone out there navigating the crypto market: 1. Bitcoin is the king of crypto. Period. 👑 It must be in your portfolio. Everything else follows it, never forget that. 2. Bitcoin Dominance is the key to unlocking the Cryptoverse. BTC.D goes higher during the bear market, Alts will bleed back the gains to bitcoin. 3. Always value your altcoins in BTC (satoshis), not USD. Buy at BTC pair support, not just USD support. That’s how you know if your alt will outperform Bitcoin. 4. Watch the Fear & Greed Index religiously. When there’s extreme fear, it’s the only time to buy. Extreme Fear = opportunity. That’s the time to load up and lock in. 5. Do NOT use leverage and futures. I repeat - don't. Stick to spot only. Don’t let greed fool you. If you’re truly convinced and want to gamble, do it only on large-cap altcoins (Top 10–20 by market cap). Avoid low-cap/shitcoins, they have high funding fees and will drain your balance even if you're in profit. 6. Don’t hold 20–30 altcoins. You won’t be able to manage them all. Plus, in real market moves, they all behave similarly. Pick 5 strong altcoins (category leaders), stick with them, and DCA if needed. These outperform 95% of the market over time. 7. Never chase pumps. Never FOMO. Chasing green candles = guaranteed pain. (just wait for fear in the market, be patient it will come, it always does.) 8. Don’t forget to take profits. Don’t just screenshot your gains. Take the money. 9. Understand crypto seasonality. Historically, Q3 is bearish, and Q4 starts the bullish phase. 10. Follow the macro: Monetary policy matters. Watch the FED’s interest rates, QT/QE stance. Altseason typically begins when QT ends and QE begins. 11. Don’t buy newly listed coins. Big pullbacks are almost guaranteed after listings. Be patient. 12. Always check tokenomics. Look at circulating supply, token unlocks, FDV (Fully Diluted Valuation), vesting schedule, etc. Don’t ignore this. 13. Avoid paid crypto signal groups. I’ve tried many. Most are hype machines or pump & dump schemes. Don’t join. DYOR instead. My suggestion: Just be in BTC and ETH. When alts bleed to BTC → be in BTC. When alts bleed to ETH → be in ETH. (My plan: 70% Bitcoin, 15% ETH, 15% Alts) I’m confident this covers 99% of what matters, The key is to actually FOLLOW it. Can’t go into every detail here, but if you want deeper clarity on any point, just reply or DM me. Happy to help!
