It rides in the five regular installers, so switching it on never means a second download. Off changes nothing. Next on the ladder: the CLI growing into the app's full reach, live, over the same socket.

The last post ended with a promise: a switch that keeps the machine awake while sessions run. It ships in umux 1.7.5. Holding a machine awake is the easy part. The work was everything around it: batteries, lids, and what happens when the holder dies.

The hold lives in the daemon's process. Toggle it off and it releases. Stop the daemon too. Kill the process, even hard, and the system reclaims it: the hold never lived anywhere else. umux status --json says the same on all three systems: held, plus the reason when it is not.

The daemon ships in all five installers beside the CLI: zero extra downloads, an app update replaces it with the app, one version number for the whole workspace. And the landing now shows the real app. Four real screenshots where grey placeholders stood.

Two weeks of quiet here. This is what the quiet was for. The last release note ended with: It can wait. It couldn't. The daemon from that note, Core, ships in umux 1.7.0 as umux Storestation: close every window, and your sessions keep running.

The Windows build crossed a wall worth naming. The daemon's Windows transport had never been compiled before: on a macOS dev machine the windows-only files stay invisible, and the release build was the first machine to try.

Completion notifications watch the end of a task. Waiting pings watch the middle, which is where agents spend much of their time. The frontend suite sits at 739 green tests, and the in-app updater picks 1.6.2 up on its own.

Your agent has been waiting for permission for an hour. It looks like an agent that is working. umux 1.6.2 tells them apart: the moment your AI stops mid-task you get one ping, and the notification opens the panel it sits in.

The rest of 1.6.2: live folder lines on Windows (the cwd from the process PEB, with chained PowerShell/cmd hooks that never overwrite yours), ports tooltip answers in about 10ms instead of 600, and sidebar width persists across restarts on all OS.
