Such security failure at the premise of a diplomatic mission raises serious security concern. We urge the Indian authorities to ensure safety and accountability. Diplomatic missions must remain secure and be respected.

If India’s law enforcement agencies fail to provide security to the High Commission, they may seek assistance from the United Nations peacekeeping forces.

In that case, Bangladesh could increase its support by providing additional troops for the peacekeeping mission.

ছাত্র-ভিসা সংখ্যা কমানোর বিষয়ে কানাডার সাম্প্রতিক সিদ্ধান্তে #বাংলাদেশের 🇧🇩 ওপর কোন প্রভাব পড়বে না বলে আমি মনে করি। এ প্রসঙ্গে আজই আমি কানাডার মাননীয় অভিবাসন মন্ত্রীর কাছ থেকে এক��ি চিঠি পেয়েছি। চিঠিতে তিনি আমাকে বলেছেন যে বাংলাদেশী ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের ভিসা যাতে ৬০ দিনের মধ্যেই প্রসেস করা হয় সে বিষয়ে তিনি ব্যবস্থা নিয়েছেন। একই সাথে তিনি জানিয়েছেন যে Student Direct Stream (#SDS)-এ #বাংলাদেশের অন্তর্ভুক্তির বিষয়টি তাঁরা সক্রিয়ভাবে বিবেচনা করছেন। আমি আশা করছি অতি সত্বর এ বিষয়ে একটি ইতিবাচক সিদ্ধান্ত পাওয়া যাবে। এই সিদ্ধান্ত পেলে বাংলাদেশ বাংলাদেশী ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য কানাডায় আসা সহজতর হবে।

#Bangladesh’s 🇧🇩 Inclusion in #SDS and Reduced Student Visa Processing Time

@bdhcincanada and I are committed to pursuing Bangladesh's inclusion in Canada’s Student Direct Stream (#SDS). Today, The Hon. Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, responded to our continuing efforts and concerns, stating that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (#IRCC) is comprehensively reviewing the #SDS Program for equitable access and strengthened program integrity.

We expect that a favourable decision on Bangladesh’s inclusion in #SDS would be forthcoming in the near future.

He has also confirmed that the processing time for study permits has been brought down to 60 days.

গত দুসপ্তাহ যাবত আমি মন্টিয়লে আমাদের কমুউনিটি লিডারদের কানাডার মাননীয় ইমিগ্রেশন বিষয়ক মন্ত্রী মার্ক মিলারকে #SDS প্রোগ্রামে বাংলাদেশের অন্তর্ভুক্তির বিষয়টি তাঁর দৃষ্টিতে আনার জন্য বলছিলাম। তাঁরা বিষয়টি মাননীয় মন্ত্রীর কাছে উঠিয়েছেন।

Yes, their choice would be other destination like USA and Australia as the Canadian Govt./ Global Affairs and #IRCC, have been delaying Bangladesh’s inclusion in #SDS for years now despite so many promises and assurances given by them on so many occasions.

Canadian Govt. is good at saying good words; but actually not doing anything helpful for our students, especially for our female students.

#Bangladesh’s Inclusion in the #SDS.
I met the Hon. @BradRedekopp MP on the last day (3 days ago) of the session before @OurCommons went to summer recess.

Given the unusual & unexplained delay of inclusion of #Bangladesh in the #SDS, I proposed to him that there can be a provision of #Bangladesh’s inclusion the in #SDS under the #Satchkachewan Provincial Nominee Programme.
#Satchkachewan is his own province.

Requested him to discuss the issue with the Provincial Government of #Satchkachewan & the @CitImmCanada about this possibility. The Hon. MP termed it as an « Interesting Proposition ».

We also discussed wide ranging bilateral issues, especially how to increase trade between #Bangladesh & his own province #Satchkachewan & his role to promote overall bilateral relations between #Bangladesh & #Canada as the Chair of the Canada-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Group.

We hope that the Hon. Minister @SeanFraserMP could kindly arrange to make the announcement on #Bangladesh’s Inclusion in the #SDS at the earliest as I was told by him on 14 December 2022.
