Added some new features to my dice RPG console game: player can now level up their energy(dice) if they have enough mana. I used a hash map to count the frequency of my Dice objects and increment when the frequency was >= 3. Next up is making a creature/monster class.
Starting building a command line game that is similar to Magic The Gathering but uses dice instead of cards to simulate mana/energy. I am using hash maps and tree maps to store the frequencies of the dice.
I am very motivated and excited to be learning Java again and am making simple command line games to learn object oriented principles. I just finished making a tic-tac-toe game that needs to be refactored to be more succinct and OOP-centric but it is still functional..
My computer science education took a few detours in the last year and a half due to the pandemic and other circumstances beyond my control, luckily I am on more even footing now than before because of a variety of resources that I am grateful for.
I don't user twitter much but hope tweeting everyday about programming will hold me more accountable to program more and ultimately become a developer.
