Riders have the same rights as bicyclists, with no driver’s license or registration required. E-bikes (3 classes) and scooters must follow traffic laws, though local jurisdictions may have stricter rules.
Previously known as National Walk Our Children Day in 1997, it has evolved into Walk and Roll Day to encourage individuals to use some form of active transportation to get to school. Be sure to keep an eye out for children participating in this event, as there will be increased foot and bicycle traffic today.

Competing against a highly skilled field, the team secured an impressive 8th-place finish out of 31 teams. Additionally, we commend Trooper Hokenstad for her exceptional precision in the driving portion of the competition, where she placed 4th among all female competitors.
While their placement on the leaderboard is commendable, what truly stands out is how they represented our agency. Both troopers demonstrated unwavering professionalism, courage, and toughness throughout the event. They also embraced the opportunity to build valuable relationships with fellow Troopers from across the nation.
