Chinese and Chips is how we say Happy Chinese New Year at Sue Starkey House! We made hand fans, played Chinese themed games, had Chips and Curry and learnt Chinese New year phrases such as 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' which means 'Wishing you a prosperous/wealthy New Year!'
This week we had our last Green Candle Dance Workshop. Residents had so much fun doing both seated and standing exercises. We will definitely be keeping it up!
Residents at Sue Starkey House are still talking about the Oktoberfest Event @BeazleyGroup hosted yesterday. Thank you to the wonderful team that volunteered with us and @OurELBA for making it happen!
A wonderful Oktoberfest Celebration with volunteers from the Beazley Group. Residents enjoyed a selection of German foods, beer, tea, coffee and most importantly a good old chat. Thank you @OurELBA#OurELBA#Oktoberfest#TGIF

What cheers us up this #BlueMonday? Chatting with friends, music, pub trips, getting involved with the community. Today we're reviewing all the fun we had in 2018 and the exciting possibilities 2019 brings.
Today is #BlueMonday, supposedly the most depressing day of the year. If you're feeling down we encourage you to talk to someone about it. If it's not just those January Blues, speak to your doctor or contact a local mental health charity for more information on your options <3
We’ll see lots of talk about #BlueMonday today. But we know that depression doesn’t care what day it is. That’s why we’ve always got help and support available > https://t.co/W5BFiO5Wum

Music is so powerful in bringing us all together, we enjoy nothing more than a good sing, a dance or simply tappling our toes along to our favourite music. Whats your favourite song to sing and dance to?
Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. This day is dedicated to global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. Read more at: https://t.co/8WMIdrrmeo
