In the three editions of the Cultural Studies Seminar, the participation has been great and we have had amazing contributions.
Last year, we embarked on a journey with some of the authors who have supported this event. For them (and everyone else), we have an announcement:
We hope that you find this book, on which we have been working for the past year, as enriching as we do.
This book is just an overview of the current panorama of the field, and we are sure it will be a primary source of consult for students to come.
Merry Christmas, y'all!

If you supervise PhD students in English Studies, please inform them about the @aedeaninfo Doctoral Seminar in Santander, July 2–4, where they will be able to present their doctoral projects. Great talks, great atmosphere, great venue. Deadline: 31 March

This is not a good bye, but a see you later (alligator).
We are going to rest and reflect, decisions are happening.
In the meantime, thank you ALL again for three years of support. See you here, there, or wherever we all are.

That's all, folks!
Another successful edition of the seminar has gone by 🥹.
First, we would like to thank all of our sponsors and the Department of English, French and German Philology, for their support, both economic and human. ⬇️
Just as matter, this seminar is neither created nor destroyed, it is transformed.
The Cultural Studies Seminar (TM), as explained, was conceived as a trilogy. Yet, these three years have shown that spaces like this are needed. Cultural studies, as a field, is alive. ⬇️
Our last presentation of the day, and of the whole seminar, is Aslihan Yücel. This is the third time that Aslihan introduces us to one of her different investigations. Today, she is touching upon American identity in "Fallout: New Vegas."
#Postmodernism
Further elaborating the topic of female voices, Alba Sánchez Iglesias has brought an enlightening presentation of her analysis of two characters from Bolu Babalola's "Love in Colour."
#AttemAndSiya
Playing at home, Alba Zels Garrido brilliantly took on the task of keeping us from napping with her unique research on women and the patriarchal gaze in the work of Singaporean writer Catherine Lim.
#TheTaximansStory
Today's plenary is given by soon-to-be-doctor Sara Tabuyo Santaclara. On top of being an outstanding person, her cv talks by itself.
Currently, she is working on notions of girlhood, the "riot grrrl", "girl power", and postfeminism.
Thank you, Sara :)

Irene Martínez-Misa has come back to our seminar to build upon last year's topic by exploring the figure of the author-influencer and the reader-fan.

The first talk of the day is being delivered by Francisco Guillermo Millán-Meana. He had us wondering about engagement in video games which provoke discomfort in the player, using the example of "The Last of Us II."
