We know these are unprecedented and uncertain times. The effects of the foreign aid freeze by the new U.S. administration are frightening. Many of the orgs CTAOP works with are trying to navigate how to help fill the critical service gaps for the youth and communities they serve.
This past year, CTAOP deepened our work w/ Youth Leaders, investing in future good. Our Youth Leaders Fellowship provides a one-year placement for young changemakers to develop leadership skills, get on-the-job experience & mentorship & receive career guidance & wellness support.
📣 ACTION: The survey is still live until TOMORROW and needs partners to share what impact you have already seen or experienced in your communities so far.

The new U.S. administration's unprecedented 'stop-work order' on foreign aid, and the instability and questions surrounding the legality of these actions, has left the entire global health community reeling.

They've already released the initial results, which are alarming – particularly for the areas CTAOP Program Partners work in; 74% of responding orgs are based in Eastern & Southern Africa, & 69% are already reporting treatment service interruptions:

To quote these wise words from our founder @CharlizeAfrica at the 2023 @GlblCtzn festival: "It's always been young people...[at CTAOP], we focus on young people, because we know that's where real change comes from."
Never forget it. #HopeIsAlive
2025 has been off to a rough start. During periods of oppression throughout history, so much of the energy reserve to fight back comes from the spark of hope, from the possibility of a better world. As always, for us, that spark is being lit by young people EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
We cannot allow ourselves to think this action is justifiable in any way. We will stand with our Program Partners and all incredible organizations impacted by this reckless executive order.
🧵 The US’s new administration's unprecedented foreign aid freeze will have devastating consequences on communities around the world, including those served by CTAOP’s Program Partners.

Suddenly stopping the provision of anti-retroviral drugs that must be taken daily may be a death sentence for many. See @amfAR's analysis of the impact of the stop work orders here: https://t.co/wFTvH8kZ4j
