Afghan Taliban forces initiated unprovoked firing in the Kharlachi sector of Kurram, prompting a strong and effective response from Pakistani security forces.

12 militants were killed and several of their posts were destroyed. The militants fled the area, leaving the bodies of their comrades behind.
