An โahaโ moment for me was that students can be taught positive self-talk. Some second graders doubt themselves and their abilities - but perhaps they just need help to shift their thinking. #wsetogether#Mindset4Learn#AMindsetforLearning
I am so excited to read #AMindsetforLearning and make positive changes in my classroom. I have one quarter remaining to help my students grow as humans and learners! I'm starting off by revisiting character education lessons on emotional awareness! #wsetogether#mindset4learn
Choose kind. ๐
โDo not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.โ

@GloriaNieberga1@teachbetterteam Preach!!! ๐ I'm always hearing teachers talk about "reluctant writers." There are exceptions - but for the most part when I allow my students to CHOOSE their topics the engagement is much higher!
@SaraKAhmed Number the Stars was the most significant novel that I read in middle school. This novel encouraged me to study the Holocaust and helped me cement my life long goal of expecting and teaching tolerance! As a teacher, I teach tolerance daily!
@JoyKirr Yes! That is something that I could definitely work on as well! I think that sometimes in my classroom I feel very isolated from other adults and when I see one I take the opportunity to vent to an adult human . . . but like you said it is complaining that does nothing!! โค๏ธ
@CathleenBeachbd @khoggardGRT I love the idea of connecting service projects with Genius Hour!!! My wheels are turning with service that we could do within our own school!
