COSCO Shipping is ook “onafscheidelijk van een sterke marine.” Het oefent met het leger voor een mogelijke invasie in Taiwan. Veel schepen van het bedrijf worden ontworpen om zwaar materiaal als tanks te vervoeren.
COSCO Shipping houdt niet van de vrije markt. Het hangt in grote mate af van staatskapitalisme,wil eigenlijk de Europese maritieme sector klein krijgen en wil onze technologie gebruiken om er later zelf onafhankelijk van te worden.
