Silence, they say, is golden. Silence also cannot be quoted. Yet, silence can be consent.

Calling attention to malaise that plagues the Body is critical yet daunting. Should we speak up when we witnes a cancerous root growing? How should the pilgrim respond to men who creep in unnoticed; ungoldy men who turn the grace of our God into lewdness. Whose god is their belly. Whose ambition is self. Whose passion and goal is this world?

What does the Bible say about being silent about corruption that invades the Body? Let the reader be Berean in this regard.

We must speak about doctrinal deviations and poisons in order to act against it. We must aggressively defend the truth. Lest what we hand over to the next generation looks nothing like what Jesus died for.

Those who sit on the fence or those who like to mix good food with a little poison will say it doesn't matter. According to them, "after all, a little leaven cannot leaven the whole lump in 2024. The Bible has "evolved," and now we can make it say or mean whatever we want it to as long as our perversions and lusts are satiated."

Where the Bible says think on those things that are pure and holy and set your affections on things above, they say:
"Let's advance a "God" we can use to marry. A "God" we can use to perpetuate ourselves in this fallen world. A "God" we can use to satisfy the lusts and cravings of our broken souls. Gain the whole world at all costs, even if it means a little compromise here and there. We must desire to be rich even when the Bible clearly warns against such inordinate affections!"

Dear Pilgrim,
Let no mortal gaslight you!

If we know that God is calling us to speak out against the "evil" within the Body but choose to be silent despite that, we are sinning!

"When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand." Ezekiel 3:18

A day of accountability is coming. Ensure you stand before The Judge, blameless.

Thanks for your take. Thanks for all you do for the Body of Christ.

1. I feel you were too quick to judge your own brother as "arrogant, conceited and biased". People have their various burdens as led by God, and it's possible he is doing what God has instructed him to. Twitter isn't a theological or Christian platform, and nobody needs to appoint anybody into any theological or ecclesiastical position. If he feels the need (just like you have felt the need to correct his position) to correct a doctrinal position, does he need to be appointed by a synod or elders council to do that?

Just my thought though...

2. @SpiricocoNg said, "There's no single verse in the New Testament that says prosperity is God's will for us"

This is not the same thing as saying, "poverty is the will of God, and God has no will at all regarding our socio-economic well-being."

This is a false assumption. That someone says, "this prosperity gospel being preached is hurting the body". It doesn't automatically mean the person says, "Christians are designed by God to be poor".

You have taken his own statement and did exactly what you accuse him of "jumped into a "logical and theological position" that was not in his write-up. You're insinuating things he didn't say.

I would have expected that in addition to all the things you said, since you feel his statement about what God says in the New Testament is wrong, you'll provide a counter position with the verses in the New Testament that state otherwise. I think that would have been the right way to go. That way, we would see the Bible answering the question and not like you just wanting to discredit what he said without providing the true position of the Bible.

Or is it that you agree that there are no such verses of the scripture in the New Testament, but you don't like the way Spiricoco put forth his argument? If that's the case, both can coexist and it would be good for you to agree that he is correct in that regard but he should have also shown that God does care about our socio- economic well-being.

I think that would have been nice as a conversation. So, people can see where he erred with the scriptures and take dressing. Let's not throw out the baby with the bath water.

As you have said, there are lots of times that Spiricoco is a blessing.
