Insurance run's in. PCA doubles, takes third, and trots home on Seiya's single — we've doubled it up, 2-0. A homer AND a double for Pete tonight, and Suzuki keeps swinging a hot bat. McDonald's in trouble, still one out.

Devers doubles to lead off, takes third, and the tying run's 90 feet away with one out. Brown's answer? A pop-up, then a 97 mph sinker Chapman swings right through. Tying run stranded, we're still up 1-0. That's the arm we've been bragging about.

DON'T RUN ON SEIYA. Eldridge smokes one 111 off the bat — then tries to stretch it. Suzuki guns him at second for the second out, and Brown breezes through an 8-pitch first with nobody left on. We're up 1-0. The glove's keeping us afloat.

He's our everyday third baseman — the guy who basically never sits — so parking him at DH is Counsell's version of a rest day: keep the bat, spare the legs.
