This weeks walk, 27th August 2020, will start at 7pm, meeting at Gortalughany viewpoint car park. Parts of this walk are through bog with wet/slippy underfoot conditions so please dress appropriately/use suitable footwear. You also need to be prepared to 'jump' the odd fence 😉.
‼️ CUILCAGH BOARDWALK CLOSED
🚫Please DO NOT TRAVEL to the boardwalk today. High waters and fast flowing rivers crossing the route are treacherous. The route will remain closed until the storm waters subside.
🤞We will post an update as soon as it's reopened. Please share!
"Benaughlin is derived from Irish Binn Eachlabrhra meaning ‘peak of the speaking horse’, and folklore has it that on Bilberry Sunday a large white horse would appear on the side of the mountain to speak forewarnings to people." 📝 @Imelda__Rose

NEW: Benaughlin: in the shadows of Cuilcagh. ⛰️
"Ask most people about walking in Fermanagh and they’ll mention Cuilcagh Boardwalk. Rarely will you hear Benaughlin talked about." 📝 @Imelda__Rose

Why not try Cuilcagh from the other side of the mountain and avoid all the crowds? You will still take in all the views and get those all important selfies😉. If anyone wants directions or a guide send us a message and we can arrange.

When this is all over we should all break loose & go camping, light a big fire and sing our hearts out for Ireland. Are ya with me? 🇮🇪🙆♂️
Best places to go? I'm thinking Achill, the burren, Sherkin island, Cuilcagh on the Cavan-Fermanagh border, maybe Tara...
