We are excited to share that we have received the FDA’s approval to launch our first-in-human clinical study!
This is the result of incredible work by the Neuralink team in close collaboration with the FDA and represents an important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people.
Recruitment is not yet open for our clinical trial. We’ll announce more information on this soon!
Artists and creatives continue to draw a line in the sand when it comes to AI: "With the advent of generative-image AI technology, that unique interpretive and narrative confluence of art and text, of human writer and human illustrator, is at risk of extinction."
Alongside our friend @mollycrabapple, today we are releasing an open letter calling for the restriction of AI image generators and illustrations in publishing 🧵

Artificial Intelligence will test our understanding of culture, laws, art, and even what it means to be human. The next few years will be really interesting for arts, culture, and creativity.
@CopyrightOffice "...copyright can protect only material that is the product of human creativity," from section titled "The Human Authorship Requirement." https://t.co/HBC3CBDjjm

Looks like the water was too cold for @Meta after it dipped its toe in the NFT pool. It is going to stop supporting sales and development of digital collectibles on its platforms @instagram and @facebook. What does this mean for digital ownership on #HorizonWorlds#metaverse?

Looks like #AI is leveling up with the release of @OpenAI's GPT-4, but this time behind a paywall. The technology has already been extremely disruptive to the art and education industries. I wonder what the new model will help build/destroy?
I'm thrilled to reveal my artwork for the @LACMA + @CactoidLabs initiative "Remembrance of Things Future" 🥳

🧵(1/5) A thread about a quilt...
Let’s see how fast on-chain royalties get figured out when large corporations and publishers really start investing in blockchain technology to track provenance for digital products/services and IP. With the proper incentives, the technology will follow @opensea@blur_io#web3
It’s amazing how much AI has become a practical, daily-use tool for so many almost overnight. I’m sure many lessons can be pulled from that adoption curve/release strategy for crypto projects
Listen, you may have been intrigued but not acted on things until much later in the past (Bitcoin, anyone?)—but don’t do that with AI. It’s not a fad. It’s a species-level shift. It will shape the rest of our lives.
Now is the time to explore where it fits for you. Right now. gn
Sad to see the impact the blur vs opensea bout is having on creators & anybody interested in launching a project/getting into the creative side of NFTs. The learning curve for NFTs was already steep w/o having to keep up with all the rules & changes these markets are imposing
Congrats to @LACMA and @CozomoMedici on this major announcement. It's exciting to see digitally native art production being embraced more and more by large institutions. Great art lives on the blockchain and now in the virtual vaults of LACMA as well

Fudding ordinals on Bitcoin would be like fudding ERC-721 on Ethereum in 2017. Ordinals are neither good nor bad. They are just a protocol for having digital objects on the world’s largest and longest-running blockchain.
Using something that is precious and scarce as a medium or material for an art piece is not new.
Gold has been used in art pieces throughout history.
If Bitcoin is digital gold…
Ordinals were inevitable.
