Fred Hahn: "CUPE education workers are committed to the supports they provide in schools, restoring the services Conservatives have cut, and protecting public education for kids and families."

With school boards using education workers’ work-to-rule job action as an excuse to cut programs, services, and staffing in schools, CUPE gave the required five days’ notice of a full-fledged walkout that is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 7.

Education workers provide the critical services our kids depend on, but they haven't had a raise in years. They aren't to blame for Ontario's budget deficit. Look to the Ford Conservatives' tax breaks for their rich corporate friends instead.

Ford's classroom cuts are hurting students.
He’s thrown mud at educators, set a bad tone for negotiations, and instead of doing the hard work of bringing all parties back to the table — to keep our students and educators in the class — he’s on recess.
Ontarians deserve better.
Where is Mr. Ford? Hiding from the mess he’s made.
It’s time for Ford to show some leadership: come out of hiding, reverse the classroom cuts, stop picking fights with the education workers who make our schools work everyday and put students first by getting a fair agreement.
