@princessrica84 @RasidB The Canucks failed Hughes, not the other way around. He delivered massive value on his contract. The Canucks didn't give him a competitive team or even a practice rink or competent coach.
That's a failure on the Canucks, not Hughes.

People hate Benning and it didn't turn out well. But his resume and vast experience in scouting, on a cup winning team is far more impressive than RJ.
The person the Canucks should've hired should've had a resume like Bennings, but with better EQ and mgmt skills.

If you say he's terrible because he wanted to leave...that doesn't make him terrible captain. That makes him smart.

What's hard is replacing a player as good as Hughes. It's shocking that Canucks fans haven't figured that out.

@brettdrc @shortbus2006 @FreePeteyEP40 Hughes told them he wasn't going to re-sign and Canucks mgmt and him decided it best that he move on sooner rather than later. QH took some minor hits in exchange for them to grant him some option despite no NMC. Fair deal both parties.
