@art_is_war@iChunk @SantiCNx [2/2] and what’s your opinion in regards to virtual mixers like voicemeeter banana? Is this a bottleneck for audio fidelity? I’ve been told to maximize software/OS and minimize analog sources but I’m concerned about bit depth and latency.
@art_is_war@iChunk @SantiCNx Thanks, Art!
[1/2] What’s your stance on sample rate? Mayflower recommended 24bit 48,000 Hz for the Arc. If I’m instead opting to directly connect to my IEMs to the board via the 3.5mm jack how should I configure?
@art_is_war@iChunk @SantiCNx What’s a good test for evaluating noise level on different inputs? I’ve got 3.5mm inputs on the front and back of my PC. Currently using a mayflowerARC via USB.
Concerned that I’m not getting the cleanest audio and not sure how to evaluate it objectively, worried about placebo.
@AnneMunition I was just reading about bit depth for optimal sound in games and music. They say to actually maximize the virtual slider in your OS, software, games, etc. and then lower your analog audio to a level you’d listen to. This way you maximize bit depth and keep the noise floor low.
@FoVeS_FPS@art_is_war@OnepegMG@Trey24k From what @art_is_war has said, LUT files can be used in Unity so if they wanted to “approve” specific filters and update the in-game post fx maybe the community and BSG can meet in the middle somewhere.
Community wants better visibility and BSG wants to maintain their style.
@art_is_war Curious, I’ve always read to disable all loudness EQ or other supplemental sound processing and just listen to the game in true stereo as these solutions are tacked on after the studio mastering of the in-game audio. Why should we enable these settings against the norm?
@amandapaigesays @netflix also, college students? People who travel? Corporate greed skipped over the part where they think about literally any factor besides revenue
@JesapelGruk@AbneyDude@Trey24k@bstategames (3/2?) When they removed camera recoil by mistake people could focus on the actual gun recoil instead of watching their screen shake uncontrollably. Basically recoil itself was not changed, but the experience of shooting a weapon was improved. Then they reverted it.
@JesapelGruk@AbneyDude@Trey24k@bstategames (2/2) as you fire full-auto your gun’s recoil is separate from the recoil of your camera. The center of your screen represents where you’re “looking” but it has nothing to do with where the gun is pointing.
