“Life is good. Life is beautiful.”
In honor of #LouGehrigDay, Justin Upchurch—husband, father, and avid Braves fan—tells the story of his journey with ALS.
As a finalist, Matt was able to award scholarships to Madelyne and McKenna Graf, twin sisters from Holly Springs, NC, who lost their father, Eric, to ALS earlier this year. The scholarship amount provided by @LiveLikeLou4 was also matched by the Atlanta Braves Foundation, Matt, and Chris Sale. Chris has a personal connection to ALS, as he lost his grandmother to the disease when he was six years old.
Before today’s Lou Gehrig Day game, held across @MLB to raise awareness for ALS, @mattolson21 was recognized as a finalist for the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award. This award is given annually to an MLB player who best exemplifies Gehrig’s character and integrity.
On Sunday, June 2, the @Braves and @emoryhealthcare will celebrate ALS Awareness Day. Discounted and group tickets can be purchased with $15 from each ticket purchased going to support the Emory ALS Center. Learn more ➡️ https://t.co/kQaOG4qP8i
