What's the difference between and AURA or PRODROME? An aura is the sensations one feels as the errant electricity starts moving though the brain. Prodrome starts well before the seizure. Here's a good description from @CureEpilepsy. #EpilepsyAwareness

We joined an international group of stakeholders to publish a consensus paper on SUDEP priorities and recommendations to better understand risk and prevention. Recs focus on creating better infrastructure, tools, data, access and education. https://t.co/9lAWeAM3OH
As part of our ongoing SUDEP Risk Assessment and Prevention Initiative, we're proud to announce the SUDEP Clinical Biomarker Team Science Award. Made possible in part through a generous gift from the @EpilepsyFdn, three teams will advance knowledge of SUDEP risk factors.
We’re delighted to announce that our international consensus paper on SUDEP research priorities, developed in collaboration with @CureEpilepsy, PAME, @sudepaction, clinicians, researchers, charities, and people with lived experience, has been published in peer-reviewed medical journal Epilepsy Currents.
The paper reflects the power of coordinated, cross-sector collaboration, creating a space for shared priorities to emerge across clinical, preclinical, and awareness domains. It establishes a unified research agenda focused on preventing SUDEP – a crucial step toward accelerating progress and reducing risk worldwide.
We are incredibly grateful to all co-authors and partners who contributed to this important work.

The Foundation has partnered with @CUREEpilepsy to co-fund a CURE Epilepsy Catalyst Award research grant exploring how focused ultrasound may pave the way for better control of debilitating seizures in children.
Together, we are supporting research to develop a noninvasive treatment for Lennox–Gastaut syndrome (LGS), a severe form of childhood epilepsy characterized by early onset, drug-resistant seizures, and often accompanied by significant cognitive and developmental challenges.
The preclinical research will test whether low-intensity focused ultrasound can transiently modulate activity in brain regions involved in seizure generation or propagation.
