Austin City Council Spending Deep Dive
We have reviewed the full list of Austin City Council members’ credit card transactions. We reviewed them long, and we reviewed them hard.
What we found was yikes.
It was $445,628.37 charged to government credit cards.
Nearly half a million dollars. Swiped. Tapped. Billed.
I've pointed out before that the City of Austin's "Checkbook" online for "financial transparency" omits information about expenditures on City credit cards. So, I'm sharing the CC charges with the X world so everyone can see the choices these folks make with your tax dollars. Dig in and help expose the examples that stand out to you. For example, in July 2024 charged $2,300 for a "D9 Logo" and Ryan Alter spent $20 in October 2023 for "Adding City logo + CM Alter's name on shirts for official events."
I also notice the offices seem to buying office supplies and stuff from Amazon or Summus--but doesn't the City have a central office supply bid to save money?
Have fun y'all.

I spoke to Sid @MillerForTexas last evening. Sid said it was all a big misunderstanding, that he is a life-long Republican and would never support a Democrat.
That’s good enough for me. #txlege
I ran the text of Miller's op-ed through @pangram, which identified 91% of the text as being generated by AI. For somebody who hates data centers so much, Sid sure loves him some AI.
Sid Miller is the most corrupt figure in Texas government, and I consider his criticism a badge of honor.
I ran to change things at the Texas Department of Agriculture and shut down the criminality, and it's telling that Miller will seemingly stop at nothing to prevent me from heading the agency and uncovering the depths of what went on.
The self-anointed “RINO Hunter” has become a traitor to his own party. A fitting end to a disgraceful political career.
The TickleTexts account that invented the Ohio mental health facility conspiracy theory (and claimed she would be posting video of him in the hospital) now hasn’t posted in over 5 days.
