I finally understand why older people grocery shop at 7am. It’s not too hot, the stores are just opening, the service is usually a 9/10, it’s peaceful as hell, and there’s barely anyone in the store.
I think the Black community really doesn’t take cheating as seriously as it should.
My nail tech (non-black) once told me to stop eating at a Pho spot I loved because the owner cheats on his wife.
I kept waiting for the rest of the story, but that was all the story.
Apparently, the whole nail shop stopped supporting that guy’s business.
My nail tech said, “He has no honor. I can’t eat from a man like that. If you can betray the person you sleep beside and who gave you children, why should I trust you with my food?”
Then he recommended another Pho spot to me.
Some people will say that’s extreme, but imagine if cheating actually came with social consequences instead of everyone just shrugging and saying, “That’s their marriage.”
