Born #OTD The #Hoosier Thunderbolt, Amos Rusie. Born in Mooresville, #Indiana Lifetime, Rusie won 246 games in 10 yrs - avg 27 W's a year in his first nine. His 393 complete games ranks 18th all-time. He won ERA titles in 1894 & '97. Hall of Fame Class of 1977.

Born #OTD in 1958, in Jeffersonville, #indiana, Walt Terrell. The #Hoosier hurler spent 11 years in the bigs, playing for the #Mets, #Tigers, #Padres, #Yankees, and #Pirates. His most successful was in Detroit in '87. He went 17-10 with a 3.97 ERA.

Announced #OTD in 1949, #Hoosier Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown was selected by the veteran's committee for inclusion in the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum. The ceremony would take place June 13. #Indiana

Born #OTD in 1961, in Evansville, #Indiana, #Hoosier Don Mattingly. He was the 1984 A.L. Batting champ, 1985 A.L. MVP. He was a 9x Gold Glover, 6x All-Star, 3x Silver Slugger, and 2020 Manager of the Year. #Yankees

Born #OTD in 1924, in Washington, #Indiana, Chuck Harmon. The #Reds first African-American player, the #Hoosier played many field positions in a utility role. He was also with the #Cardinals and #Phillies in the 1950's.

Born #OTD in 1990, #Hoosier Kevin Kiermaier. The Ft. Wayne, #Indiana native was a 3x Gold Glover with the Tampa Bay #Rays. Kiermaier had 7 hits and hit .368 in the 2020 World Series. He was twice named an NJCAA All-American, and currently plays for the #BlueJays.

Born #OTD in Evansville, #Indiana Scott Rolen. A solid 3B with the #Phillies #Cardinals #BlueJays & #Reds, he slugged 316HR, was ROY, a 7x AS, 8xGG, 1xSS, and 2006 World Champ. The first #Hoosier elected, he will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on July 23.

Born #OTD in Princeton, #Indiana, in 1924, Gil Hodges. #Dodgers great had 7x 100+ RBI seasons, 3x Gold Gloves, and member of the 1955 & 1959 World Champs. He managed the #Mets to the 1969 Championship. He joined the Hall of Fame in 2022. His 370 HR's are most by a #Hoosier.
