@splodeybaloney That's actually the mica powder I used! It's otherwise clear. The iridescent micas can have some cool looks if done right but I'm still working on that part lol
The end result is still a bit rough and requires some clean up but I'm pretty happy to have a workable cast. Now I'm testing out materials and processes to see what i like the best. It is its own experiment but I'm having a good time.
The idea for D-Buttons on the pro controller came from long before I considered making dice. It just happens that when I started dice making, I had the motivation to try and make something out of it.
I realized that the button pad for the D-Pad lined up incredibly well with the joycon D-Buttons so I cut up a joycon, grinded down the D-Pad's little holding bracket, created some longer custom D-Buttons, and used modeling clay to fill in the front.
Sorry I've been a bit absent on posts. There are two big things that are slowing me down on that regard.
1) Engraving dice by hand is time consuming, messy, and generally not enjoyable. I'm currently saving up to get some custom dice designed to make things much better.
Tonight was frustrating as I had my first big material spill but I managed to get what I wanted to take care of done. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have something cool to show you all!
Painted the blue and silver set i showed off earlier. I managed to fix the hole in the D20 which is nice but they're still a little scuffed. Still, I quite like them!
On a more disappointing note, I tried making a green and purple set based off of colors you all gave me earlier but they wound up having a bunch of bubbles. I'll definitely be remaking these later.
