@ShimonAine Consequences of laziness. How much does it cost you to step out of the car, ensure the fish is properly tied, get back and drive off? What if they don't tie it at all or not tie it firmly and it drops off along the way?
When the late Oulanyah became Speaker, the office had a budget of 4 billion and he intended to reduce it to 2 billion.
He stated that 2 billion was enough to run his office and the rest should be channelled to service delivery.
Today the same office has a budget of 19 billion
My neighbor knocked on my door at 11pm once.
Her power went out. She said she just needed to charge her phone for a few minutes.
I let her in. Made tea. We talked until almost 1am.
Two weeks later she came again.
Different problem. Same door. Same welcome.
I never made her feel like she was disturbing me.
Months later my car broke down three streets away. I called her.
The moment she picked up, I could already hear irritation in her voice.
She said she was tired. Then asked, can’t you call someone else? I said okay and hung up.
But I just stood there beside my car holding my phone for a few seconds.
Not angry. Not even hurt. Just confused. Because I started thinking about all the late-night knocks I had answered without hesitation.
Not because I expected repayment. But because I genuinely believed that was how we treated each other. Turns out it was just how I treated her.
That’s the dangerous thing about one sided kindness.
While you’re giving, it never feels one sided. It feels like love, like loyalty, like being a good person.
The realization only comes later. Usually in the exact moment you finally needed them back.
Have you ever realized someone only valued your kindness when it benefited them? What made you finally notice? And how did you handle it?
What exactly do Ugandans want? When powerful government officials steal taxpayers' money with impunity and face no consequences, citizens blame the government for failing to fight corruption. Yet, when the government finally attempts to hold the corrupt accountable, the public still comes out in full support of the corrupt officials.🤷🤷
@wekesa_amos But the celebrations were only postponed as a preventative measure, where is the problem? Government is studying the situation and will guide on how to safely proceed with the celebrations.
@believe_kama Imagine how many lives would have been changed, where this country would be, if all that money had been put to the right use.
1 vs 45 million
The pig is the only animal on the farm that doesn't work.
It eats for free, sleeps for free, and lives warm.
The pig looks at the farmer and thinks this human loves me. He's my god. He gives me everything I need.
What the pig doesn't know is that the food is not a gift. It's an investment.
They're not feeding it. They're fattening it. The day the pig is fattest and happiest is, casually, the same day the farmer sharpens the knife.
The bank and the system treat you exactly the same way.
They give you easy credit cards and comforts so you spend.
They're not helping you live better. They're fattening you with debt so they can collect interest for the rest of your life.
If something is free and comfortable, be careful. Chances are you're the product on the menu. Stop eating from their hands.
Wealthy people understand this:
When something looks like generosity from a system that profits from you, it's never generosity. It's strategy.
They want you comfortable. They want you full. They want you asleep. Because the moment you wake up and stop borrowing, you stop making them rich.
