@WeLearnOutLoud As seen with other lifestyle changes, we should start young by educating children in schools about the harms of air pollution and ways to improve. They will then take this information home and discuss it with families, and they will grow up with a positive attitude #AllOurHealth
@emma_student@WeLearnOutLoud I agree. It could come across as very overwhelming for someone to be informed of the ways they should 'change' to make an impact. It will be important for us to take a sensitive approach to the topic, whilst still encouraging the patient to make small adjustments #AllOurHealth
@WeLearnOutLoud I have not had the chance to discuss air pollution with any patients, but thanks to this weeks content I now have a number of resources I can refer to in the future #AllOurHealth
What could you do for Clean Air Day 2021? #AllOurHealth
- spend time researching air pollution and how it can affect us?
- give the car a day off and walk/cycle to your destination?
- avoid burning in your house, such as log burners?

I like this infographic from:
https://t.co/U5Sur922Cr as anyone can relate to, perhaps not even for themselves but for those they care about such as their children/parents. It is clear to understand and provides examples of conditions people will recognise. #AllOurHealth
It is positive to see that there is an increase in referrals to such services after having an NHS Health Check, meaning people are wanting to improve their own health and are allowing themselves to reach out for support if they feel they need it #AllOurHealth
Preventative interventions for CVD:
- stop smoking
- get more physically active
- cut back on drinking
- lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels
Starting a conversation with a patient means we can work on achieving these to reduce their likelihood of CVD #AllOurHealth
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of premature mortality in England. People living in the most deprived areas being almost four times more likely to die prematurely of CVD than those in the least deprived area.
