Are WA State Dems at war with each other, a la what just happened in NYC?
Democrats here are increasingly electorally secure, yet also increasingly at odds. To wit, we see a slew of heated intra-party primary challenges this year in the legislative (and in some of the congressional) races. What gives? Are these primary challenges about a progressive-moderate divide within the party? An insurgency against the establishment? A generational shift? All of the above?
Those are the questions we'll take up at the next Block Table (registration link to follow) on Tuesday, July 21, at the Rabbit Box. Our guests will be Dean Nielsen, who consults for veteran Sen. Majority Leader Jamie Pedersen in Seattle's hotly contested 43rd LD primary, and Stephen Paolini, who's the political consultant for Hannah Sabio-Howell, 30, Pedersen's young left insurgent opponent, who just won sole endorsements form the 43rd LD Dems and the King County Dems.
Naomi See is moderating. This is going to be an interesting, and timely, conversation.
Either this is an insane coincidence or she’ll be announcing that she’s stepping aside for independent Seth Bodnar — the former president of this school — to run 1:1 against Republican Kurt Alme.

Remember, Members, Hill staff, reporters and lobbyists, be nice to schedulers and comms teams.
They might one day become president and co-founder of trillion dollar company.
