Knicks player Tyler Kolek appears to defend Trump and troll NY Governor Kathy Hochul with a '1993 World Champions' shirt, after she said "I’d ask Trump to name the starting lineup of the 1993 championship team" (which they never won) 😂
@killinger_95944@Ejmiller25 I'm sure most of them dont want to draw attention to themselves or ruffle feathers by doing that, like what happened with Blake Treinen.
@EsotericCD@asymmetricinfo Christmas break senior year my dad asked what I was doing after college and I said I didnt know. He said I could come home but itd be $1,500 a month.
David Pierce with Texas went to 3 CWS, 4 Supers and 6 Regionals in 7 seasons. Substantially more successful than maybe any Aggie coach ever, with the possible exception of Schloss ...
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw The real culprit here is MLB. None of this would be a problem if they had either 1) taken adverse employment actions on each and every guy who wrote stuff on his uni during the entirety of the current CBA or 2) completely ignored those rules during the entirety of the current CBA
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw Effectively, a new agreement. that's probably not happening this close to the expiration of the existing CBA. If MLB had it to do all over again, they 100% would have looked the other way at the giants players and just dealt with it in the new CBA
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw That's probably the best they can do, frankly, but it does not fully (or even appreciably) mitigate the risk that they'd lose a challenge to that. There really needs to be a resetting of the rules where the players and MLB both agree again to abide by them.
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw black overalls 3x a week for a year and suffers no adverse employment consequences, and then the next year type A employee 2 wears black overalls once and gets fined for doing that, that fine isn't going to hold up.
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw It's a little different depending on whether the labor is unionized or not, particularly with respect to disciplinary stuff, but if there's a rule in a labor contract that says all type A employees have to wear yellow overalls every day to work, type A employee 1 wears /1
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw sure, but there will be plenty of time and space to address this, mostly bc the players and owners aren't going to want this kind of public controversy
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw Deciding not to enforce rules without any reservation of rights to enforce them later REALLY exposes you to the probability that you will NEVER get to enforce those rules again until a new agreement is reached that includes those rules. That's how contract law works.
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw It's not about satisfying me, it's about satisfying a guy or gal in a black robe behind a bench or 12 people from gen pop. I'm not sure how to better explain constructive waiver and how it works than I have already. /1
@DaBruiser5@TiredBambooLaw really dicey and puts the league in something of a precarious position legally. That precarious position, for the league, and the views of the players, for the players, means each side has an inventive to hammer something specific to Pride Night (and perhaps other potentially /3
