Britain told the world what time it is. 🇬🇧

Not by asking. In 1884, 25 nations sat down in Washington to pick 1 line for the world's clocks. France wanted Paris. Germany wanted Berlin. Some wanted the middle of the Pacific.

But the sailors had already voted. 2 thirds of the ships on earth steered by British charts, because for 200 years the Observatory at Greenwich had kept the navy's time, and for 50 of them a red ball had dropped from its roof at 1 o'clock so every captain on the Thames could set his watch. The world's shipping already ran on our time. The vote just admitted it. 22 to 1.

That's how Britain does things. Not by asking. By being the thing everyone already relies on.

So every time zone on earth is still counted from a brass strip in a London park. You can stand on it, 1 foot east and 1 foot west. Most of London doesn't know it's there.

They teach you it's called Greenwich Mean Time. Not that the world had a vote and chose us.

That's what Proud Of Us is for. Britain didn't ask the world to choose it. It earned it. That's the way we work too. No sponsors. No ads. No agenda. It runs on people like you. Every film comes with a free lesson for any school that wants one.

The world set its watch by Britain once....

Let's give it a reason to look again. 👉 https://t.co/rih7iKwnvf 👈

Tesco has 20,000 employees on their basic £13ph
The majority of these claim income support.
That taxpayers money should be deducted from Tesco's annual pretax profit of £2.4 BILLION
We should NOT all be helping Tesco shareholders.
Same for ALL major low pay employers.

People keep saying Trump term II is the most corrupt administration ever, so I built a model to find out if it was true.

I took the UN's definition of corruption, turned it into eight criteria and 100 points, and scored the leaders history remembers for looting their countries: Marcos, Suharto, Mobutu, Abacha, Obiang, Putin.

Then I put every president since Eisenhower on the same scale, both parties, with every exoneration counted right alongside the convictions.

Nixon scored 41 and no other American President scored over a 25.

Trump's second term scored a 91, which ties him with Suharto and Mobutu and puts him above Marcos and Abacha.

So he is not only the most corrupt president in American history. At this pace he finishes his term level with the most corrupt rulers of the last hundred years.

PSA: don't come in my comments arguing about the results if you haven't read the full article, because ignorance is a choice.

Now that she's gone, Tennessee, you know what to do.

Just a little note to ALL councils in England and Wales.
Now is the time to clear the drains in the roads that you haven't cleared for years.
Because, when the rain eventually comes, there WILL be floods and using Climate Change is not going to work!
This especially applies to Gwynnedd Council.
