@DrSherryPagoto @foxnic It is an extremely complex topic. If the average daily use of social media is 7hrs, this is behaviour that is incompatible with other, positive behaviours. Therein lies a large part of the problem imo.
A new breakthrough in Alzheimer's Research! Researchers discovered a rare ReelinCOLBOS gene variant that may provide protection against Alzheimer's disease. This finding redefines our understanding of Alzheimer's progression and opens new avenues for potential treatments.

Listen and Learn: AI Systems Process Speech Signals Like Human Brains
AI systems process signals in a way similar to the brain's interpretation of speech. Researchers used electrodes to measure brain waves and compared them to an AI system trained in English, discovering remarkable similarities that could improve the development of powerful AI systems.

Any known journey to the future with AI at the helm?
We discussed the ethical implications of AI during both the BSc and MSc Cyberpsychology courses at length.
Excitement and worry the overwhelming feelings…..
Geoffrey Hinton, an AI pioneer, quit his job at Google, where he has worked for more than decade, so he can freely speak out about the risks posed by AI. “It is hard to see how you can prevent the bad actors from using it for bad things,” he said. https://t.co/DJ9m6ilgvi

Smart phone use can be problematic. The seamless integration of mobile technology is incredible, but certainly raises many concerns. We will be discussing this in next weeks Cyberpsychology at ATU, Donegal-So very interesting.

We watched this today in the BSc Cyberpsychology class after learning about satellites surveillance. We are now at the point of continuous, high spatial, temporal and spectral resolution surveillance on any part of the globe. Taken about 70 year to get here 1/2
This fact raises lots of ethical questions of course, who, why, for what etc, especially when this surveillance can be bought, no questions asked from one of many commercial satellite companies
