Well thought out piece. The LTNs serve urban owners of upmarket homes, most likely originally from the shires going on a weekend cycle ride with the family. People who really cycle as their main mode of transport funnily enough won’t be found cycling inside them.

@hasspacher @mayorofhackney Also some residents need to make short Car journeys. I am a cyclist but two of my family have disabilities which prevent them from being able to walk or cycle. This atrocious scheme pushes more traffic onto roads with public transport & schools including Queensbridge Road

@mayorofhackney We chose to live on Brownlow Road as it WAS low traffic. NOW turned into a RAT-RUN by this Crazy road scheme which forces traffic onto the few remaining, narrow residential Roads still open between Dalston & Mare St. You are making your residents lives hell!

@hasspacher @mayorofhackney I don’t agree. This scheme has been imposed on the community without proper modelling or consultation. As usual it’s the upmarket roads that are closed to traffic & those with council housing have to take on the burden of pollution & traffic
