Stop the War Cymru welcomes First Minister Eluned Morgan’s commitment to the right to peaceful protest. The FM was pressed on the point by the Welsh Conservatives earlier this week and was unequivocal in her commitment to peaceful protest.

Had these proposed police powers existed, successive marches to Whitehall and parliament demanding votes for women or the long-running picket of the embassy of apartheid South Africa would likely have been banned.
