Some news to share:
After serving as CEO the past couple years, I’m moving into the role of Chairman of the Board, and @mfigge will become Yuga’s next CEO.
Figge is the absolute best person for the job. There’s no one I trust more to lead Yuga through this next chapter.
He’s relentless about product quality, he thinks longterm, and he knows how to take a vision and make it real. His work on Otherside the past year is proof of that, and you havent seen the half of it.
And I’ve loved watching Figge get his hands dirty in the world of BAYC over the last few weeks. The club is better for it.
Creative direction, writing, and figuring out insane ideas is still where I do my best work. And with Figge taking over the CEO role, I get to go back to it. I can’t wait for what Yuga builds next.
Spencer and Orange Cap Games acquired Moonbirds in June, just seven months ago.
Tomorrow they are dropping their token.
That's fast.
A LOT of NFT projects and protocols promised ecosystem tokens 5+ years ago at this point, and still to this day many of those projects don't have a TGE imminent (though many have points programs). Some protocols have rugged their airdrop promises entirely and have proceeded to ICO.
Many tier 1 NFT projects like Azuki and Doodles launched tokens last year, and from what I can tell on the tl, those holders don't seem to identify with the ecosytem token. Most only care about the NFT, despite the team making $0 from the NFTs.
If you want success, you gotta have alignment.
Birb is airdropping some of the token day 1 to NFT holders, and then is making them vest for the rest monthly over 24 months.
It's a bold, risky strategy to make NFT holders vest because many NFT holders would rather see an airdrop as a cash-in moment, sell, and move on. There will certainly be some of that.
But I don't blame Spencer for trying to create a situation that aligns NFT holders with the token for longer than it takes to sell.
Spencer is in the top 5 smartest people I've ever met in crypto, and he's an absolute dog. He was always going to take a wild swing. Looking forward to seeing how the TGE plays out, not just tomorrow but over the months to come.
every week, more communities enter Otherside
join in at https://t.co/mKrjr16O7T
@OtherGamesXYZ (community hosted event) happens every Saturday at 3pm ET - great opportunity to check out the world
somebody was asking how to do this
very simple
use nano banana pro in gemini (has to be pro)
give it the hoodie as ref
sometimes helps to give it the logo large too if it's messing it up
in the past week, the following have begun wind down or been strategically sold:
Nifty Gateway
Farcaster
Lens
Foundation
Rodeo
Forgotten Runiverse
meanwhile someone who took over a 2022-era NFT project launches a token with every exchange listed at launch.
counter point to this:
the edge is where all the interesting things happen
it's where you have to go if you want to encounter the best ideas
and it's hilarious just how being present and using the latest tools puts you in a place to shape what the future looks like
clawdbot was invented by ~one dude~ playing with the latest AI tools
never been possible for a single rando to have as much leverage as there is today
and I think that single rando's ability to be impactful will shrink as other larger actors become entrenched
idk if the world's best AI tools will always be in the hands of basically everybody for low-to-no cost
last cycle, Discord was the dominant platform for new crypto users to chat in real time
it wasn't great; the platform made it easy for anyone to impersonate anyone else and the amount of phishing that resulted was staggering
started to see some notable crypto protocols shutdown their Discords recently.
think we will see way more of that soon.
