Something really unsettling went down in Oro Ekpo Estate, Ada George, over the weekend. A man in his mid-30s is now in police custody after an incident that left his own father, a retired pilot named Captain David Woke, gone.

It happened on July 4. Neighbours say they heard commotion, then screams, and when they rushed over, they found the old man in a pool of blood. They called the police right away, officers came, picked up the son, and took the father's remains to the morgue.

But here's what's got people in the area talking: this wasn't the first time. Residents claim the son had actually laid hands on his father before. And this time, the fight was apparently over money, specifically, the sale of one of the old man's properties. A disagreement that spiralled way out of hand.

Right now, the police are holding the suspect and digging deeper. But everyone's asking the same thing, was this really just a fight that got ugly, or had it been building up for a long time? Guess we'll have to wait and see what comes out next.
