“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” — Romans 12:21
•
Another great morning from the OATH desk, y’all. It’s Monday, folks. Time for a new work week. Look in any direction, and you’ll be able to find some sort of news story that makes ya go hmmmmm. I recently came across an online story about a fella that found an unexploded civil war artillery round in Gettysburg. Steven Brann was using his metal detector at Little Round Top when he got a ping. He soon found a 10 lb, 7” long unexploded artillery round from the battle of Little Round Top that had taken place on July 2 of 1863. The round was fired from a Confederate artillery piece almost 160 years ago. Holy Moly !!! Steven knew that if not handled safely and properly, his days of finding hidden treasures could soon end. This got me to thinking about Romans 12:21…..
How many of us are sitting on unexploded ordnance in our hearts? How many of us are just waiting for a sensitive matter to come unearthed so we can see it explode? When we’ve been ignored, offended, made fun of, cheated, we sometimes bury that wound and carry it around for a long long time. Then, when we least expect it, it comes to the surface and those hurt feelings come with it. We never really addressed it properly way back when, so that salty seed was planted, and it has now sprouted into a shrub of vengeance that helps nobody.
When folks harm us in one way or another, the best way to address it is to give it to God. We talked a few days ago about things you can control and those you cannot. While you can’t always control how others treat you, you can control your reactions to that treatment. I know, sometimes that can be a tough leap. Will you lash out and seek pain for pain, or will you pause and pray and pass the issue to God? Let Him handle it. He’s gonna do a much better job at dealing with it than you are, I promise ya. Release your frustration and anger and disappointment to Him, and let Him fight that fight for ya. When you do that, the battle is won right then and there…..when ya bury it, the battle is yet to come at a time to be determined, and it will not be enjoyable. Ask me how I know.
Have a great day, folks. Thank God for His love. Thank God for His grace. And thank Him for allowing us to see another of His beautiful days!!
With love and grace,

Lord, thank You for fighting the fight for me. Thank You for taking hold of the enemy known as anger and revenge and for winning that fight for me. Please give me the strength and wisdom to always hand those enemies over to You, as You can handle them much better than I, Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” — 2 Chronicles 20:12
•
Another great morning from the OATH desk, y’all. As the work week grinds along, I can’t help but think that some folks could be feeling overwhelmed. Last week of the month, last week of the quarter, goals to be met, bosses that will be watching, reports that will tell the tale. Others might have a looming medical appointment this week, one that has been pushed to the right for far too long. It’s now time to be brave and be bold as the future is unfolded amidst the charts and test results. Still even, there might be a person or two out there fighting the good fight of ministry calling. Battling hard to follow God’s guidance of loving others more than yourself isn’t always easy. Often times, the support isn’t there, the fundraising isn’t there, the resources needed to continue isn’t there, but the need…..the need is always there. Know what else is always there? God.
Courage comes in many different forms, but one of the greatest forms of courage is pushing forward when you’re not fully certain of the outcome. We put plans in place, we put people and resources in place, but in the end, all we can ever do is have faith that God will bless the situation in which we’re currently dwelling. Expectations and apprehensions will both come in waves, but at the end of the day, when we’ve done our best planning and placing and preparation, we are left with one outcome that always works out for the best : turn from fear and turn to God. Face up. Eyes up. Faith up. It worked for King Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah. When armies from three nations had surrounded Jerusalem, instead of focusing on those armies, he chose to focus on his God. As they marched into battle, King Jehoshaphat appointed singers to sing the praises of the Lord. Face up. Eyes up. Faith up. In doing so, the Lord blessed them, they defeated their enemies, and it took King Jehoshaphat and his army three solid days to collect the equipment and clothing and other articles that the enemy had left after the battle. Face up. Eyes up. Faith up.
Today, prepare yourselves for a blessing. Challenges will come. Issues will arise. Remember : Face up. Eyes up. Faith up.
Have a great day, y’all. Love yourself and love each other. Thank the Lord for His love for us. Thank Him for His forgiveness. Thank Him for His grace. And don’t forget to thank Him for allowing us to see another of His beautiful days!!
With love and grace,

Lord, I give it all to You. All of my doubts. All of my fears. All of my anxiety. Face up. Eyes up. Faith up. In every facet of my life, I know You’re in total control. Not me, Lord. You. You and only You. Help me to always see and understand embrace that fact. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

Great day again! Started out this morning at 4:30am and 36F/2C, it was a little chilly but warmed up throughout the day. Discovered that the girls (scooters) don't like being chilly at high elevations but they pulled through! Cheers!
With a little time on my hands I thought I'd share a little about my travels. I'd love to hear some suggestions of places other like exploring.
